Choosing
a coach for yourself, your team or your organization is not an everyday
experience. You probably never did. Therefore,
don't be surprised if it seems intangible or uncomfortable at first.
To hire
a coach the challenges must be
worth the investment !
A coach is very useful (even indispensable) if you have wide-ranging goals.
Here the same principle as in sports applies: you can very well run a
race without a coach, but if you wish to win the Olympics you
will most certainly need one.
If you are like the majority of the people
who meet us for the first time, it will also be the first time you hear
about coaching for yourself, your aspirations and
your business.
Since coaching is a trendy word and used
by several types of specialists, it would be very convenient to verify
their definition of coaching in order to make sure it suites your expectations.
Even if a coach is not a perfect
person, you will be able to appreciate the one who practices what he says.
He will then be able to support you throughout your process. Choosing a coach is making a commitment to your development. Make sure your coach is in that process too and that he has a coach also.
Finally, inquire about his life history and
accomplishments. If you feel his honesty and his authenticity, and if
you are inspired by this person, he will certainly allow you to travel
a long ways. If it is not the case, abstain from doing so for the moment.
( maybe
some other time)
Your intuition, not your logic, is your best
guide. Be attentive!
